Refer a Patient for Psychological Testing
Comprehensive psychological testing, virtual and in-office, for adults, adolescents and children using leading-edge and standardized assessment technologies.
““Our high-end testing services go far beyond a simple diagnosis, to exploring the mechanism of a client’s challenges, providing the precision necessary to ensure their investment in well-being finally pays off.””
The Process-Based Assessment Model
Dr. Engen’s process-based assessment model is designed to provide the client with more than just a diagnosis. The goal is to uncover the specific, measurable mechanisms—like all-or-nothing thinking or rigid avoidance patterns—that are driving their symptoms. This level of insight allows us to create a mechanism-level roadmap that genuinely improves the precision of the client’s next steps, whether that’s psychotherapy, medication management, or another medical evaluation.
When it’s time to refer a patient for testing
When medication isn't effective.
When complex diagnoses need more review.
When a patient resists treatment and a new plan is needed.
When serious mental health issues are present.
When a patient is having difficulties and needs clear guidance.
When a better understanding of their mental health issues would be beneficial.
When behaviors affect jobs or relationships.
When they might make bad decisions with serious results.
Why refer a patient for testing
For proper diagnosis and proper treatment.
To obtain a precise mapping of the core cognitive, emotional, and behavioral processes at work.
For a clear description of how these processes interact to create distress.
To identify both the challenges and strengths of the patient.
For targeted, actionable recommendations tied to evidence-based interventions.
A concise, practical, and clinically usable written report that avoids excess jargon.
Look beyond just a patient’s symptoms to understand their psychological makeup.
Recognize a patient’s abilities and not solely focus on general labels or what’s “wrong”.

Virtual psychological testing
We offer convenient, reliable virtual testing for ADHD, intelligence, and mild cognitive impairment using Creyos - a scientifically validated software that provides accurate insights into cognitive and attentional functioning. Additionally, we conduct virtual IQ assessments utilizing the Kaufman Brief Intelligence Test (KBIT-2), a trusted measure of intellectual abilities.
Cognitive Screener - a useful pre-assessment tool for all
Our cognitive screening process serves as an effective preliminary evaluation to identify potential signs of executive dysfunction, including difficulties with attention, memory, and reasoning. This screening can help guide the development of individualized treatment plans or determine the need for further diagnostic testing. The screener can be also useful for those that are concerned with post-covid cognitive symptoms. View more info or a demo here.
